The Show
Travis Walton sits down with Joe to discuss one of the most famous UFO abduction cases ever documented. On November 5, 1975, Walton was working as a logger in Arizona with a crew when they spotted a disc-shaped craft hovering above the trees. While his coworkers watched from the truck, Walton got out to get a closer look and got hit by a beam of light that lifted him off the ground. That's the last thing he remembers until five days later when he found himself on a road with no memory of what happened.
The whole thing sounds like science fiction, but what makes Walton's story compelling is the corroboration. His entire logging crew witnessed the initial sighting, and multiple people saw the craft. That's not one guy making wild claims in his basement. These were working men who had nothing to gain from lying and everything to lose in terms of credibility.
Walton describes the interior of the ship as this incredibly advanced space with beings that weren't quite what you'd expect. He talks about the medical examination and the sense that these entities were studying him, trying to understand him the way scientists might approach an interesting specimen. The weird part is how matter-of-fact he is about all of it. He's not sensationalizing or dramatizing. He's just laying out what happened to him.
What's interesting about revisiting this case decades later is how it's aged. The story hasn't changed fundamentally. The details are consistent. And Walton himself hasn't become some conspiracy grifter trying to sell you stuff. He's still living his life, still standing by what happened to him.
The skeptical explanation has always been that he and his crew made it all up for attention or money, but that doesn't really hold water when you look at the actual evidence and testimony. These guys could've been wrong about what they saw, sure, but they weren't making it up out of thin air.
